Higher education is necessary and needed for a modern citizen. Regardless of how a pupil does in classes, he or she may seek admission to a college or university. Before enrolling in a university, it is important to perform research and choose the best fit. Nonetheless, higher education is a real challenge for many American students. This paper would look at the approaches that students use to fund their own university fees.
The United States is a country with numerous opportunities and prospects. It is really appealing to all professionals who wish to advance in their careers. One of the most positive aspects of studying in the United States is the fact that in America there is an unlimited choice of specialties for training, the opportunity to form the training program itself, an inclination to practical classes, various scholarships for students. However, it is impossible to study completely for free in the US, as in Europe, for example. For instance, cheaper than all would cost a 2-year studies or community college, from $17,000 a year, including accommodation, food, insurance, textbooks, transportation and so forth. At US universities, the cost of training ranges from $30,000. Some training programs in US universities, such as IT, or medicine, are much more expensive. Some universities do not require mandatory prepayment of a whole semester or a year of study. Do not forget about compulsory medical insurance.
As it is understandable, students are forced to earn extra money, because not only study, but also life in the US is not cheap. It all starts with looking for a future job. One can go in two ways: to look for an employer oneself or to contact the intermediaries. For $200, they would find the right job. On recruitment, payment can also be different. It all depends on how much a student earns. For students, there is a rate of about $8 to $8.5 dollars per hour. One can work overtime, that is, more than 40 hours a week. When paying overtime to the basic amount of hourly earnings, another 50 percent is paid; it is about $12 per hour. It is not enough for living in America.
For example, one of the most popular types of work for students is the sorting of envelopes into the UPS, and also work at the cashier in fast food establishments (Semuels). Undoubtedly, if one wants to eat well and have fun, even having a job will not help with good living. The procedure for obtaining a salary is very simple: an employer sends checks by mail, which can then be cashed in a bank. Despite the fatigue, students work hard, because money is not superfluous.
Summing it up, it is worth concluding that students in the United States have a hard time. However, if they are motivated to get a higher education, they will cope with the situation. Many employers take advantage of the situation of students, not giving any vacations or days off. Nevertheless, the country’s leadership obviously does not consider it necessary to make education free for its citizens.
