Work from Home

I’m writing in reference to the evening shift. Any employee is expected by company policy to work two evening shifts of at least eight hours per week. However, we would like to suggest that we just work one evening shift at the company’s location and the other from home. The key explanation for this proposal is that our home is very far away from the office. We spend between 12 and 14 hours driving to and from work, wasting precious time that could be spent serving the business. Furthermore, we have realized that the evening shifts make us fail to take care of our children and families. The only thing we can do during such days is to go to work and come back.

I believe that if we address this issue together, it would be in the best interest of both parties. Previously, we have worked from home and performed well. We always worked for the eight hours and always got things done without supervision. In addition, we always attended all meetings as scheduled and contributed appropriately to the growth of the company. Therefore, I want to request that we choose one day to work from home so that we can commute to the office only once a week for the evening shift. We encourage you to keep an eye on us particularly when we work from home. In case you realize that this privilege is being abused, you can take it away from us. We are committed employees who love the company and the team and would like to continue working for the establishment to achieve its objectives. Kindly have trust and consider our request.
