Nursing is one of the most interesting, challenging, and rewarding careers due to a number of reasons. First and foremost, I have a passion for nursing and this was triggered by the fact that my role model who is my aunt was a nurse. Moreover, I also love helping people especially the sick and disabled. Working closely with patients and beloved ones through difficult moment is satisfying. Therefore, I would love to be a nurse because it is rewarding both emotionally and monetarily, have the passion to help others and to bring a difference in people’s lives by cheering them up and giving hope to the hopeless.
Bringing hope and cheering up patients is one of the greatest gift nurses can give to their patients. Statistically, it has been proven that most patients usually undergo a lot of stress during medication. As a nurse, I will be able to help such people by not only playing the role of a caretaker but also giving them hope to live and stand up on their feet again. Ever since I was a young teenager, my empathetic heart took over when I spotted young girl crying. I was the first person to go and comfort her and this was the beginning of my dream of becoming a nurse. Due to this, I am confident that I can help the sick despite their conditions and comfort them during their most vulnerable moments (Calabrese and Marianne 20).
Apart from the mentioned, I have the passion for helping others. I have always wanted to do something interesting, challenging and that can bring a difference to people’s daily lives. Notably, nursing profession deals with many aspects of patient care and this is one of the interesting this I enjoy about this career. For instance, dealing with the sick and their families and assisting them through their vulnerable moments is really satisfying for me. Besides, my aunt is a nurse and seeing the gratification she feels every day by serving others in her job has motivated my own interest in this field. Due to this, I was so sure that nursing was the profession I wanted to do in my life (O’Lynn and Chad 151).
The nursing career is also rewarding both emotionally and monetarily. Currently, there is a great demand for nurses which has been projected to rise by 2020. Besides the excellent wages, nurses make, the nursing career will allow me to utilize my interest in science and the natural world., while every occupation has its demands and challenges, the nursing career can vary with the setting. According to most nurses, no day is the same since every day presents a different challenge which keeps you educated and excited about this occupation (Calabrese and Marianne 22).
In conclusion, the nursing profession is one of the most interesting and rewarding careers. Despite the challenges in this occupation, I consider nursing profession my career choice since it will enable me to help and change people’s lives. Moreover, being a nurse will also enable me to fulfill my interests and desire as well as assist me momentarily.
