Telemedicine is the interaction of a doctor, nurse practitioner, or other medical provider with a patient in real time. It is used to treat chronic illnesses, as well as for remote medical education, professional consultations, and patient monitoring. This strategy, in my opinion, has various advantages that will increase healthcare quality. One of the reasons for this is that it improves the administration of excellent services for all healthcare demands, including those that are urgent. It also enhances easy and improved access to healthcare services for all, especially individuals living in rural areas or those that have mobility and transport difficulties. It is also convenient and cost saving since one can make consultations wherever they are located. Finally, it improves the quality of the services provided since it involves the use of specialists who help with the diagnosis and treatment of a patient (Nelson & Staggers, 2016). All these benefits will impact the quality of the healthcare positively.
2. What are some of the most compelling intercultural communication challenges that will have to be managed over the next 50 years? Why?
Communication channels have taken a great pace in the present world and have improved due to technological advancement. The developments come with both positive and negative impacts (Barnett & Jiang, 2017). One of the intercultural communication challenges that have to be managed over the next 50 years is culture. People have different ways of doing things, and we have to appreciate these ways even if they do not please us. Culture is a challenge that has to be managed to increase unity among people from different cultures and improve their communication. Another problem is the language. Most people visit an area and cannot even utter one word in the language of the area. Even if the people of that area speak English, which is a common language, it is a challenge not to bother to respect and appreciate their language. Learning the language will make people from different cultures feel each other as one and communicate effectively.
