Diabetes and its Impact on Society

Diabetes is ideally one of the primary noncommunicable illnesses that today pose a significant cost on populations. Type 2 diabetes places a significant strain on society. Since the distribution of this condition is not proportional among communities and families in Each village, its consequences have a significant impact on the community’s social order. According to a recent study, the lifestyle of individuals in society is a primary factor of this illness. Smoking, obesity, a lack of exercise, and health-seeking activities are all examples of lifestyle factors. It does, however, offer social amenities like education and income levels of individual people in the Ohio community. Thus, lifestyle determinants are the major forces behind the variations and the disproportion of diabetic adults within this community. Evidently, level of income, education and the availability of health care facilities are the major determinants of type 2 diabetes among the Appalachian adults in Ohio villages.

The Role of Income in Diabetes Prevalence

Lower levels of income result in numerous predisposing factors among the Appalachian adults. Reports indicate the most of these adults with type 2 diabetes have low income within their families. The amount of money that a household has to spend determines several aspects of the family progress. First, the lower income levels restrict the household on particular types of diets such as junky foods, too much carbohydrates as well as imbalanced diet within the household. This way, the Appalachian adults are twice at risk of developing type 2 diabetes than the neighboring communities owing to the average levels of income within this village. Secondly, low levels of income may hinder proper access to health care services as well as education limits. Consequently, the individuals lack proper knowledge on self-management practices that could foster healthy living styles within the households.

The Significance of Education in Diabetes Prevention

Similarly, having sufficient knowledge on the importance of healthy lifestyle may serve as an opportunity to reducing the chances of this disease in the village. Contrariwise, most members of the rural Ohio dropped out after high school and have less information about health practices. Education creates awareness among people. It also helps in decision-making. People who are well educated tend to understand the context of the prevention and management of such diseases in any set of environment. Thus, they tend to carry out regular exercises to avoid hormonal impairment. In addition, they avoid the other predisposing lifestyles such as smoking. In return, they remain healthy within the scope of life as presented. Nonetheless, economic conditions such as economic burdens, mentioned earlier, become a major challenge in enhancing such practices in the rural environments like the Ohio village.

Inadequate Access to Healthcare in Ohio Villages

The absence of sufficient of access to proper healthcare is a menace in this village. Notably, the interior village side do not only lack access to facilities, but also fail to receive the services due to inadequate staffing. The political systems of the country may have a hand in the medical distribution policies. Politics is a major factor in the distribution of resources in most parts of the country. Thus, the concerns may help to highlight the political influence as well as the leadership organ used in serving the citizens of the village. Moreover, some people may fail to recognize the importance of healthcare system because of lack of knowledge or education. In similar way, most adults in the Appalachian Ohio fail to consider health services a priority since they have other social responsibilities to take care of. A good healthcare structure should focus on delivering equitable services to the citizens to avoid the burden of such vulnerabilities within this community. According to the health professionals, diabetes is a lifestyle disease elevated by emotional conditions such as stress and eating habits. However, it is avoidable through proper health-seeking behaviors. Lack of knowledge and ignorance may also contribute to the disproportional cases of the disease. Hitherto, the government should enforce the promotion of a devolved system of healthcare hierarchy that helps in reaching the Appalachian rural adults to reduce the burden of these conditions within the economy.

Societal Impact of Political Frameworks

I think the US, as a society allows such inequalities to exist due to the disparities in the political frameworks of the country. Moreover, the constant focus on racial issues within the society elevates the level of resource mobilization and distribution in most parts of the rural villages. Concurrently, the turmoil of political divide among the democrats and the republicans makes progressive development a major headache for the local leaderships. As a community, what shapes our social organizations involve the way we perceive one another. The level of cultural diversity tolerance may help us to propel ideologies that help to promote our existence as a society. Hence, most of the social choices derive from the moral perceptions of the benefit with regard to the economic status of the choice in questions. Most of the victims will only make choices that help them to survive in the society.
