Over the ages, the West and East have engaged in a battle for supremacy. Regarding democracy and politics, as well as technology and creativity, the blocks compete with one another. As a result of not interfering with their investment partners’ leadership more lately, the East has achieved the greatest economic success. (third world countries). However, Western civilization has dominated during this time, with the majority of the countries incorporating their political ideologies, religious practices, and leadership styles. (Pagden, 2008; Solomon 2010). The spread of practices like western food, health, and clothing trends has had an impact. But historians and academics have been worried about how long the West will rule the globe. The 2012 presidential election in the United States that took place in the middle of geopolitical paradigm shifts symbolized the rise of Eastern civilization (Ferguson, 2010). The essay will discuss how the Western considers the technology and innovations attributes, personal freedoms, science, property rights and free market economy in ensuring their dominance in the world.

In the book written by Ferguson, titled “The West and the Rest’, he explores the rise and the dominance by the West in the global markets. Ferguson points out the essential political and economical application that accelerated the dominance that the rest lacked. Despite the West rising and dominating to become the political and economic superpowers, he notes that no civilization last forever. Ferguson argues that many societies that would have developed got engaged in useless and sadistic activities like a war that eventually brought down their economy (Danilevskii & Woodburn 2013). The author explains that some parts of Europe developed six killer applications that included work ethics, consumerism, competition, science and the rule of law. Ferguson indicates that the adoption of these applications enhances political divisions and the economic competitions. The latterly promoted innovations as every nation in the Europe were determined to be recognized as a piece of innovation.

Property right attributes gave the landowners powers to air their grievances to the government. The investment in science brought the inventions of modern medicine that prolonged the life expectancy. According to Smith, the stability of the economy is dissected by the natural resources availability and the utilization of human resources. As such, good citizens would help sustain the economy for long time hence brings stability. In addition, the increased industrial revolution assisted by the work ethics, led to the production in large quantities promoting export trade. The revolution sustained the innovations as they gave the demand and utilization of the machines. Conversely, the East and the West has various contemporary evidence of development despite the West taking a superior civilization. The East nations such as Prussia dissociated the religion from the state function and encouraged scientific education only (Danilevskii & Woodburn 2013). By promoting open inquiry with no scientific interest in mind, the Prussians finally outlawed the study of science. The fact lowered their innovation viability.

Lastly, the East did support free market trade and innovation to some extent. The component countries were members of communist countries. The communist countries believed in the sharing of ideas and developing together unlike the capitalist countries. In Adam Smith’s book ” The Wealth of Nations,” he states that morality in the marketplace enhances the values of free thinking and respect for other people (Ferguson, 2012). As such, the East attributed to self-respect as the right to protection of an individual’s rights of property. Furthermore, the model of morality dictates that the discovery of self-morality might lead to scientific advancement (Ferguson, 2010). It is the blueprint of the society that is concerned with other people welfare. That constitutes the components of laissez-faire (free market). The Rest mastered the value of social support and mechanism of morality.

Thereafter, the Eastern copied the Western forms of governance thus bringing fierce competition that later seem them topple the opponents in their gulags. Later the Eastern states reduced the interference on the economy and abolished the oligopolies. The move gave way for free market however it failed. The result was unfortunate as the Western loved democracy freedom and natural forces to control the market. The innovation and use of internet in India show the belief in fairies and magic world of sciences. Unlike the past when we could not talk of the spaceship in India, today people believe that revisionism enabled India to have ultra-high technology consumed by the educated society. The main lagging factor is a wide range of income disparities.

The Role of Christianity and Spiritual Control in Civilization

The scholars say that there is no space in the ecosystem where the truth and spirituality does not control individualism. The phrase explains why guns, steel, and killer applications did not lead the non-Western societies (Ferguson, 2012). The applications of killers tools inhibit the command of free market as it mutated into something completely different. In fact, the forceful use of machinery incapacitated the non Western from establishing crucial exchange platform. Instead, the market became corrupted (Danilevskii & Woodburn 2013). The West worshipped under one denomination. Christianity instilled similar principles and rules among the state members. The congregation and beliefs led to the unity and peaceful coexistence of the citizens. Unlike the Hindus and the Islam who did not share values and principles together. There were numerous benefits of doubts while transacting among the East.

Without due respect for Christianity and humanity, killer applications must be acknowledged on confidence and conviction, additionally involution ordinary senses and confounding society much all the more, making individuals more unreasonable by loading them with more convictions. Just the levelheaded individual has the limit concerning moral conduct, for self-obligation (Ferguson, 2010). On the off chance that he considers himself to be a piece of an aggregate, he excuses his ”improper“ conduct as something that works for more note worthy’s benefit. He at that point has no purpose behind self-reflection. He even does not have a genuine feeling of pondering and puzzle. Furthermore, he has no adjusted. In such a case, the killer applications cannot work in a state of harmony, except naturally, and after that exclusive for a brief period.

It is worth quoting the contribution of world Cristina leaders such as Pope John II in influencing the market economy. The spirit (Rerun Novarum) of John Paul II still glows in the Centesimus Annus where he asserted that a free market is the most efficient system capable of adjusting to satisfy the needs of a large number of people through the equal allocation of resources (Ferguson, 2012). Nevertheless, he adds that the motive of the market adjustments is to give a breakeven point of every body’s preference and tastes, therefore, considering the dignity and freedom of people. The opposite is exact in a socialists market.

Do you believe that the West still Controls these Attributes

Due to the emergence of mixed economies both in the West and the non- Westerns countries it not easy to conclusively say, that West still controls the above attributes. Even though the West made good use, of killer applications that placed, them bar higher politically and socioeconomically, non-Westerns nations also copied some aspects of governances to achieve higher growth targets (Ferguson, 2010). In the analysis of the attributes such as innovation, science, personal freedom and free-market structures, the West emerged superior in the implementation. Christianity has participated in the civilization of the West since the non-Western did not have a uniting religion. The facts are supported by the assertation from Pope John II.

Conclusion

In summary, the battle of civilization between the West and non-West countries continue to rise owing to the changes in different structural instruments. The countries that emerge best in civilization assume the respect for dignity, free market, personal property rights and standing innovations (Danilevskii & Woodburn 2013). The West has adopted many if not all of the attributes. The presence of the rule of laws and outstanding religion brings the virtue of free markets that adjust itself to accommodate the individual needs. Ultimately, I believe that the West has emerged and still control the political supremacy in the world.
