The Saudi Telecom Company (STC)

The Saudi Telecom Company (STC) is a Saudi telecommunications business that provides a wide range of services such as internet, mobile, computer network, and landline (Elsheikh, 2013). The company was established in 1998 as a result of Council of Ministers Order No. 213 authorizing the formation of a Saudi Stock Corporation under the name “Saudi Telecom Company” (Elsheikh, 2013). Following the second license transfer to Etihad Etisalat, STC lost its monopoly on mobile phone services (Ahmad & Abdulghani, 2014). STC, on the other hand, has a large network of investment and business firms in numerous Asian, Arabi Gulf, and African countries (Ahmad & Abdulghani, 2014). STC recently adopted a challenging program aimed at transforming its business from government system to standards of commercial business (Elsheikh, 2013).

Current Position

As a result, the company developed various strategies with the aim of reorganizing its internal operations, re-skilling the organization, as well as developing its staff, enhancing internal processes, and identifying the needs of the customers while maintaining various social and national responsibilities and duties (Ahmad & Abdulghani, 2014). STC currently stands as a leading provider of telecommunication-related services nationally in the Saudi Arabia Kingdom, and it remains committed to fulfilling and satisfying its market requirements, as well as keeping tuned to the emerging technologies within the telecommunication industry.

Quality Staff Training

The quality program that best suits the Saudi Telecom Company is Quality Staff Training. That is because the company’s effective transformation from a government system of operation to commercial business standards depends significantly on the training of its entire staff, including the management team. Additionally, proper training of the company’s staff would help both the management team and the employees to understand the change of operations and adjust accordingly. Staff training would also help the company to stay aligned with its vision, which is to get recognized as the ICT leader, in the provision of comprehensive, innovative solutions and services, as well as be capable of earning the trust of the customers and enriching the society (Constant, 2007).

Benefits of Quality Staff Training

Through a quality staff training program, all the key stakeholders of the company would develop the full commitment to achieving the company’s vision, mission, and goals, as well as understand how their roles and duties contribute to the organization’s bigger picture (Akanbi & Adetunji, 2016). Quality staff training would also enhance communication between the employees and the management team, thereby making it easy for the managers to understand the needs of the company’s junior staff. Quality staff training forms a fundamental tool for the company’s strategic alignment and contributes significantly towards enhancing the relationship between the organization and its customers (Akanbi & Adetunji, 2016). Through quality training, the staff members would develop a positive attitude towards the operations of the company, as well as acquire proper communication skills necessary for effective interaction with customers (Constant, 2007).

Importance of Quality Staff Training

Quality staff training plays an essential role in ensuring that all the company employees, including the management team, work towards a common goal, especially when transforming from one system of operation to another. The adoption of Quality staff training program by the Saudi Telecom Company would, therefore, be of great importance. It would enhance the fulfillment of the company’s transformation strategies, as well as increase the level of staff engagement to the organization’s operations, improve staff interaction, and make the employees understand their contributions towards the advancement of the organization.
