Attendance to One Event and Audience Reactions

On April 15, 2016, I attended Billy Joel’s concert performance at the Madison Square Garden. I was delighted to watch the live performance of a six times winner of the GRAMMY Awards. The performance featured songs such as Piano Man, Uptown Girl, and the River of Dreams. The crowd was ecstatic, and the arena was full. The audience’s demeanor was varied; some were wild and noisy while others hummed the lyrics in silence and slow dance. The performance was the best live event that I have ever attended at the Madison Square Garden.

Methodology

The primary methodology in this research report was a literature review and personal observations. Most of the relevant literature was derived from the websites of the above-mentioned performance venues. All the performance venues have detailed websites providing information regarding all the performances hosted in within their precincts.

Analysis

In light of the information presented, it can be observed that the Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall are globally acclaimed music performance venues that have hosted some of the best composers and musicians of all time. The Madison Square Garden is a mixed-use indoor arena featuring sports and other events not related to music

Conclusion

This research report has highlighted different aspects of the selected performance venues in New York City. The Carnegie Hall was the first to be established, and therefore, as expected it has a rich history. The Radio City Music Hall and Beacon Hall feature similar performances owing to their shared history that can be traced back to Samuel Rothafel. In conclusion, all the performance venues have hosted local and international performers and composers of different genres.
