The modern literature has evolved qualitatively as a result of various mythologies from different cultures. The art of language was a verbal culture invented to express our inner beliefs and model of living hood with the intention to design a better society. The earlier philosophers of the days made sure the style of telling these myths were clear for the next generations to digest the moral knowledge easily.

In modern English, many words originated from biblical mythology and the pagans institutions of Greeks. The Great Roman Empire ruled under Christian doctrines & they attacked the Greek institutions of knowledge and burned all their good books since the Greek mythologies were rated to be owned by pagans.

Literature Review – How Mythology Influence Modern Literature

The Western Civilization later harmonized both Roman and Greek mythologies to design the current western civilization system. The names of gods plus heroes from Greek, Egypt, Babylon, and Rome are popular in modern English, and many corporates are using their symbols as their brand logos (Richard et al., 2015, n.p.) Therefore, this reflects how mythology influence modern cultures and cultures create literature.

Through Art & Music; during the Dark Age, Egypt used paintings and art & craft to print the names and symbols of their gods on the walls of their temples. This was to pass the knowledge to the next generations easily without even using verbal speech to communicate. The Greek philosophers like Plato and Da Vinci played a significant role in the modern literature with their mythologies. The common thing among these great men with hyper insight was that their knowledge was timeless and divine.

The biblical mythology of creation is always expressed via the art of Adam & Eve tricked by the serpent, and this can only be communicated through the culture of art and drawing to help people digest the divine mythology easily. Mythology is the light for those men who are enlightened since it tends to communicate higher knowledge of the things we still don’t know how to say or express.

They say music is the only powerful force that when it hits you, and you feel no pain since it has got healing powers (Adams, 2017, n.p.). Therefore, singers and rappers lyrically to explain their mythologies to their fans or followers of their products have always used biblical mythologies or verses. The medusa head is the brand logo of Versace Company and a popular female artist like Rihanna sometimes in her videos personified medusa to symbolize woman rage.

Conclusion

The Greek myth influenced medieval and Renaissance poets like Dante & Petrarch in Italy through the works of Ovid. This is truly a signal of existential import of mythology from different cultures hence extending our boundaries of cultures and culture is the backbone of the modern literature. The mega influence of mythology in our modern literature is the freedom of diversity of cultures. The gay culture was popular during the Roman days until it is even written in the bible under the book of Roman.

Today the gay culture has been infiltrated into the media cables and many films today we homosexuality being promoted as a norm. The modern literature is developed by the popular cultures, and these popular cultures spring from the ancient myths since every day they get expressed in our museums, spiritualism, music, art, business and general life to obtain a sense of purpose for creation.
