The Art of War and the Need for Military Intervention

The art of war is procreated by disagreements amongst countries or a group’s contradiction with virtue. This explains the reason Syria, and Iraq is in a full drawn war and why the Afghan war continues. The need for military personnel to foil these wars explains the reason why America sends troops to these countries. The unending scourge of war has resulted in the loss of lives and the unending resolve to find peace. America spends a lot of taxpayers’ money in resolve to end these wars. This is in the deployment of soldiers to the areas and equipping military personnel. However, the organization of these fronts is well structured that the wars still persists. The killing of Osama Bin laden seemed to cripple the AL Qaeda. However, recent terror attacks only seem to show the determination and nudge to remain relevant as a terror group. The weight and resolve of fighting in these wars for the USA army is not only on the barrel of the gun but on the strategies. An error in strategy can lead to casualties and thus every course of action must be structured accurately to wade off a threat. This paper resolves to address the need of competitive intelligence in the battlefield.

Current Security Environment

Security environment refers to threats within a state or internationally which military power or conventions such as U.N or NATO can deploy dimensions to eradicate the factor causing the threat. Rwanda is an example of a country in which the U.N helped to contain tribal violence. This was procreated by the belief that the Hutu, who were the majority, were being maligned from the power. The assassination of top political leaders left the country in a dilapidated state with massive human distraction. The level of dimensions that a country deploys depends on; the threat been mitigated, its military power and its ability to purchase sophisticated weapons. Recently countries are allocating more funds in artilleries and enhancing combat skills to their soldiers to bolster their military power. Also, countries are taking on research even to innovate better artilleries to counter threats to its political instability while eliminating the human factor. This is through military robots and cyborgs; this is remote controlled or autonomous robots whose role is to rescue, search, attack and transport military. The idea behind this automation is to reduce the number of deaths of soldiers. For example, the MIDAS is a four-wheeled robot which is automated to carry out the role of a military guard. The MIDAS patrols government installations or military camps through pre-installed cameras loaded firearm and radar under the control of a human overseer.

Trends of the Security Environment

The current security environment has changed the tact of combat this differs from the era of the World War 1 and 2. The cold war procreated the trend currently being witnessed in the current security environment. This is the belief in values, and procreation of the east and the western bloc. This war was perpetuated by idealism; the eastern front is opposed to modernization as relevant to the western bloc. The western bloc is led by the United States of America while the eastern front is lead by Russia.

The military competition being witnessed in the current century is likely to invoke inter-state conflicts. This is due to ease of access to weaponry or instruments that may orchestrate war. The rise of militia groups and extremism have been widely accelerated by this factor which has also led to increased terrorism. However countries within the same region are also coming together to combine their military power to insure themselves from the toppling of governments due to this arms race. NATO for example, which is an alliance of twenty-eight countries, is responsible for world peace by deploying necessary military force when a state is unable to mitigate the threat or interstate clashes.

The proliferation of nuclear weapons in combat is another trend in the security environment. Research is underway to reduce the effect of a nuclear attack by streamlining an attack to a specific location.
