Women’s rights in history

Women’s rights have been disregarded or nonexistent for much of history. Susan B. Anthony, however, stood up at the end of the 1820–1906 era and entered American history as a fierce Civil Rights Activist who paid careful attention to women’s rights due to the oppression of women that emerged from the male-dominated society. (Faludi, 2009).

Susan B. Anthony’s contribution to American democracy

The present democratic state of America was brought about by Susan B. Anthony’s efforts. The following can be argued to have been accomplished as a consequence of Susan B. Anthony’s course of action; As a result of attendance of the anti-slavery conference, other activist became inspired thereby spreading the anti-slavery campaign all over America. In the end, the slave trade ended, and black people rights became recognized.

Susan B. Anthony and women’s right to vote

Susan B. Anthony is also remembered for her work that paved the way for the 19th Amendment to 1920 Constitution. Through this course, women earned the right to vote following the Constitution amendment. Therefore, it can be argued that women rights to vote and participate in the political sphere were attributed from the course pursued by Susan B. Anthony.

Championing for social causes

Most importantly, Susan B. Anthony realized the impact of alcohol on the society. As a result, she championed for a limited production and sale of alcohol.

Advocating for women’s property rights

Since time in history, women in America were not allowed to own property or retain earning they made. As a woman activist, Susan B. Anthony championed for the right of women to own property and retain earnings they made. The advocating of the right to property was pursued through women’s labor organization.

Susan B. Anthony’s impact on American society

Summarily, it can be argued that American transformation and achievements can be traced to the life of Susan B. Anthony activism. According to (Buhle & Buhle 2005), her memorable moment was when she advocated for women admission to the University. As a result, more women became aware of their rights an aspect that transformed the American society and systems.
