A major problem associated with artificial intelligence is the process of programming the computers for the given traits. The technology was developed in a bid to make machines able to perform a number of human tasks and started with the development of the checkers-playing program almost seventy years ago.

The importance of artificial intelligence to human life has, for many years, been given a significant amount of attention with respect to the advantages and disadvantages that have been felt in the different sectors of the economy that use artificial intelligence.

Advantages of Artificial Intelligence

Some of the advantages that come with the development of artificial intelligence include its ability to perform tasks reliably without getting tired (Hernandez 37), the ability to handle large volumes of data in the best way possible, its ability to perform tasks precisely, accurately, quickly with little or no errors, as well as replacing humans in the repetitive and tedious jobs to make work easier (Zarkadakis 119). Also advantageous is the ability to work in hostile environments that would be a problem for humans as well as organizing and managing records in industries and firms among a few others.

Disadvantages of Artificial Intelligence

The disadvantages that come with the use of artificial intelligence include its high cost of development, repair, and maintenance (Brown and Kauchak 127), its inability to perform tasks that have not been programmed, exposure to hackers, loss of jobs in industries and factories that now use machines to carry out human tasks, as well as its lack of imaginations and original creativity among others.

The Future of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is a very important development in the computer world and further studies and research should be conducted to come up with ways that will ensure artificial intelligence is put to use in the best possible way and ensure that people do not lose their jobs as a result.
