The Importance of Self-Efficacy in Student Performance

The performance of students is highly related to self-efficacy. Teachers are obliged to encourage learners to grow and improve their performance in order to ensure both proper performance and student progress. As a result, enhancing the emotional and social climate in the classroom and among students enhances their academic performance and ability to learn (McLaren, 2015). I will therefore always work to provide fundamental tools and information that are applicable to learners’ instructional careers and develop perceptive as well as self-awareness of the conditions in the world in order to reduce my students’ fear and promote their growth. In this essay, the function of instructors in fostering students’ academic achievement and personal development is explored. Students need care and motivation from teachers to perform well in the classroom.

Fostering a Well-Informed View of Subjects

In the view of McLaren (2015), learners are not blank slates in class but regularly have preconceived ideas about the topic of study. As an instructor, it is critical to recognize that but also give students a well-informed view of the subject. Nevertheless, before I can encounter them to reason in a different way, I will help my learners understand the relevance of the concepts in real life situation. I would do this by giving numerous examples so that they can grasp grounded on what they know in real life. After which I would ask few questions to make the link between the real life issues and the textbook.

Incorporating Real-Life Experiences in Learning

Additionally, I will invite learners to utilize their real life experiences while learning the topic. I will ask student’s examples from their lives, involve them in activities, and allow some time for reaction and reflection of the material. For instance, to explain the concept of gender roles, I engage my learners the dialogue like, “why men pay a dowry for marriage?”.

Creating an Inclusive Learning Environment

In conclusion, teachers should create a suitable emotional and social atmosphere in class, to cater for individual differences. This should be done through the provision of fundamental tools and knowledge and enhance understanding and self-awareness of the real world situations. As an effective teacher, I will always motivate my students so that they can improve their performance and growth.
