The Learning Community Group Project seeks to provide an effective e-commerce website equipped with the required technology to assist COMMUNE Management and Marketing Inc. in conducting their operations. Because COMMUNE is an internet-based company that specializes in the provision of services such as superior travel and leisure planning, management, and marketing, among other things, it will concentrate on three key lines of service. Hospitality operation and management, travel and tour operations and marketing, and parks and recreation operations management system are among the service lines offered. This article will discover and recommend particular hospitality information systems and technologies for the organization to purchase. For, the recommendation of the specific hospitality information systems and techniques, our Learning Community Group considers two major factors that are the ease of use and the quality of information available. In regards to the ease of use, the website design should cater for a wide array of user’s needs (Law & Cabanoglu, 2014). It implies that such aspects as disability and culture should inform the design approaches. For instance, when the language used in developing the website is not understandable to the intended users then the company success on the online platform may be crippled. Therefore, the Company will adopt languages that are appropriate to the online user especially from major client base regions. Notably, the importance of a website that allows for easy access to information is that it offers adequate information to all stakeholders.
The quality of the information is also a key consideration in the three lines of COMMUNE online operations. It is because most customers’ choices in the hospitality industry especially tourists are shaped by functionality, emotional, and educational information they access the website. Therefore, an understanding of customer perceptions is vital in the choice of website design. It implies that the website design should ensure sufficient interactivity. Moreover, it should lend objectivity to most of the customers’ heritage. Other important aspects include consistency in the information posted as well as the destinations’ image also enhances the performance of websites. It is through such considerations that sites can be fully utilized (MacKay &Vogt, 2012). Additionally, concerns about security should also be keenly addressed to enhance user confidence. Given the stated aspects, we recommend Central Reservation System as the hospitality information system and technology.
Central Reservation System
Central Reservation Systems (CRS) is one of the modern techniques used in the hospitality industry (MacKay & Vogt, 2012). CRS is highly preferred for multi-property operations. In the case of COMMUNE whereby there are three lines of business involved that is hospitality operations and management, travel and tour operations and marketing, and parks and recreation service management, CRS integrate all the operations into a single accessible platform. It implies that all the operations will have centralized management, control, and data storage. The key features of CRS such as single user log in as well as reservation agents log in elevates the ease of access to a wide variety of information (Law & Cabanoglu, 2014). Moreover, there are centrally configured rate codes that aid the recording system for both productivity and comparative reporting. Therefore, acquiring CRS will enable the company to centralize its operations, promote self-service as well as saving labor costs.
Conclusion
It is apparent that the proposed hospitality information system and technology are based on factors such as the ease of use for the stakeholders. It views the needs of the customers as an essential drive to website design whereby heritage concerns that is language and personal attributes such as disabilities are considered. Moreover, the website design takes into account the quality of information which involves educational and emotional aspects which shape users’ perception is also vital. It is on these grounds that Central Reservation System (CRS) is an ideal hospitality technology for COMMUNE Management and Marketing Inc.
