The Importance of Understanding in Education

The student opens his article by emphasizing that the teachers are his intended audience. The kid deserves praise for citing the resources he used to create the piece. The student also tries to distinguish between knowledge and comprehension by defining them. Additionally, the student credits those whose thoughts he used in the process of defining the terminology. By arguing that knowledge is factual and learning is the process of examining ideas and resources and applying them in the real world, he distinguishes between the two. He continues to give instances to show that he understands the principles. Importantly, the student states that understating involves analyzing material and concept and implementing the right in real-life situations. Not only is the idea of understanding applicable in a classroom setting but also in real life (Pritchard 2014).

The Role of Teachers in the 21st Century

Additionally, the student acknowledges that teachers are an important part of ensuring that targeted understanding in teaching is not only enduring and transferable but also applicable in the elements of the 21st century. The student states that the way people think is evolving and so are the teaching methods. The students indicate that the 21st-century education system is making use of technology and should be incorporated in the teaching methods. This is to say that the student gives a well-detailed explanation of the concept of understanding, knowledge, and learning in the 21st century. Further, the student acknowledges that ensuring the applicability of the understanding in the minds of the student will be ideal, as they are the leaders of tomorrow. Primarily, as the student states, it is important that the teachers commit to 21st-century learning to ensure that the students are able to develop understanding instead of using factual knowledge.
