Tammy’s Adaptability to Change

Tammy should be willing to work with new team members and report to more than one boss as part of the organizational matrix’s new structure. Accepting change as part of the wider goal of accomplishing the organization’s objectives is one attribute she should have. The ability to adapt to changes brought about by the new boss will be a stepping stone toward ensuring that she is in line with the new way of doing things in her schedule. She should also expect changes in her schedule as directed by her new supervisor, and she should balance her job responsibilities to fit her new positions. Her idealist personality will help her cooperate with the rest of the colleagues in pursuing her goals. However, the new reporting structure might force her to be more attentive to the ideas of other workmates and be willing to implement the ideologies of other people without being coerced. The matrix organizational structure will have the effect of broadening her capability to develop as an individual and give her a unique opportunity to deliver across the business in a more complex and interconnected environment (Wysocki, 2015). Therefore, Tammy should be ready to learn from other people and also be able to respond more flexibly to the changes in her working schedule for the sole purpose of meeting local and global market priorities of her organization.

Personal Experience with a Matrix Organizational Structure

I once worked for an organization that adopted matrix organizational structure with the aim of boosting communication and cooperation among the employees and finding a new way of making information available to the rest of the organization. At first, there was the challenge of middle-level management where having been exposed to multiple supervisors was confusing. The agendas of my working schedule were perplexing, and I was pulled in different directions. Therefore, I would urge Tummy to ensure that her productivity in her different lines of duties should not be affected and she should learn to cooperate with her bosses to deliver quality work efficiently. Finally, the important concepts I learned from the class is the ability to manage different teams in the workplace so as to achieve the goals and objectives of an organization efficiently. Therefore, with the skills at hand, I believe I will be an active manager in my future career.
