My name is Dylan James, and I am the only owner of St. Paul’s Bakery in Ohio, Texas. Bread, buns, biscuits, cookies, muffins, and casserole are just a few of the products available at the bakery. I understand how important it is to give my consumers a variety of options because everyone has different interests and preferences. I also endeavor to deliver excellent customer service to my clients since excellent customer service breeds customer loyalty.

A product audience match is critical for any organization because it allows owners to determine whether or not they are meeting the demands and desires of their customers. By so doing business owners can lay down procedures and measures that will enable them address issues and concerns of their target audience.

Product/Audience match analysis

For this particular discussion, the following is a list of the audience that I currently market my products to. First, there is Michael and Diana my parents. They have been very supportive on my business endeavors’. There is also my best friend Alex. He has always been my confidant, always providing a shoulder to lean on. Then there is my teacher Dr. Grimes, always encouraging me to be innovative and inventive. His famous quote “always think outside the box ”always lingers in my thoughts. There are also my cousins Lenny and Tracy, happy souls always adventurous and ready to take new risks.

There are also the supermarket employees Mrs. Leonore and Mr. Leo. This is one of the retail stores where I sell my products. Then there are bank employees Ms. Ortegathe and Mr. Miller. This is actually the bank that accorded me the loan or capital that I used to start this lucrative business. There is also Raul and Maria my faithful employees who have been there with me from the start. They have always been loyal and I know through our combined effort and commitment we are going to achieve the businesses objective. Lastly, there is Mrs. Victoria and Ms. Olga. These are individuals who oversee the operations of Medina Bakery Supplies. This bakery is one of my raw materials suppliers.

I very much value my current audience because their opinion and advice serve as a basis for my growth. My audience mainly involves individuals around me so I am sure that they are providing their honest opinions. Furthermore, if I am able to satisfy their needs and wants, I am sure it will be very easy for me to traverse or exploit new markets.

My parent’s opinion comes in handy. These are basically the people who know me better than I even know me. I am certain that their corrections and advice will be for the improvement of my business enterprise. My best friend’s opinion is also very crucial in my business development this is because he understands my strengths and weaknesses. He will therefore advise me accordingly on how I will use my strengths to maximize my output while at the same time strive to manage and contain my weaknesses.

My cousins are risk takers. Their advice will enable me easily identify certain opportunities that exist in the market and exploit them. The supermarket employees being my customers will advise me on the areas my product lacks. Is it on the packaging? Is it on customer service? There is always room for improvement. The banks advice is crucial because they will advise me on the best investment opportunities that I can expand my business to. The bank may also increase my capital enabling me to traverse different markets. The advice from the bakery is also very important because they supply various raw materials to various customers and businesses. They therefore interact with various businesses meaning that they understand current needs and trends in the market. They will update me on the current trends enabling me to keep up abreast with these changes as they occur. Opinions of my employees are very important because they are the people who fully understand the business since they are involved in its day to day operations.

There are various attributes or elements that my target audiences require me to exhibit. My parents for example expect me to be diligent, hardworking, respectful and obedient. They constantly remind me that the needs of the customers come first. Alex on the other hand expects me to be confident, eloquent and discrete. He claims that these attributes will ensure that my consumers continue to trust in me and my products. Then there is my teacher who expects me to be dutiful, flexible, friendly, persuasive and charismatic. These traits will enable me persuade my target audience as to my they should purchase my commodities. My cousin Lenny and Tracy expect me to be fearless creative and innovative. In so doing I will be able to come up with new distinct ideas that may reap massive returns for my business.

The supermarket expects me to be time conscious, reliable, dependable and provide them with exemplary services. In so doing our good business relations will continue to blossom. The bank on the other hand expects me to honest, incorruptible and knowledgeable so that they can continually offer advice and direction to me when needed. My employees expect me to be humble, kind and a leader. I should lead the way for them to follow. My suppliers expect me to be dedicated, decisive and cooperative as we work together in unison.

Plans are underway for me to expand my target market and exploit new prospective audiences. Some of the markets I am planning to tap in include; the online market. It goes without saying that many transactions are nowadays done online, I am therefore aiming at availing my services and products online via various platforms. My second target audience is the youth. These are the people who always keep up with current trends and occurrences. I want to ensure that they buy into my idea. My last target audience involves tapping in to learning institutions especially schools that consume a lot of baked products.

The reason as to why social media is my primary target is because it has a pool of customers. My product will therefore reach a lot people at once. I am also targeting the youth because they make up most of the world’s population today. Tapping into this market will therefore ensure that my business makes a lot of profits. Learning institutions will ensure that I will always have a ready market for my product.

The following are some of the traits that prospective audiences expect from me. The online market expects me to be trust worthy, active and accessible. The youth expect me to be charming, dynamic and captivating. Learning institutions expect me to be time conscious, impressive and resourceful.

Synthesis and summary

Based on the demands of my already existing target market and that of my prospective target market, I think I am able to satisfy most of their demands but not all. Humans are prone to error. In order to further satisfy the needs and wants, I would be carrying out various forums e.g. online in order to maintain close contact with my customers. Suggestion boxes will also be put up in already existing stores so that consumers can have another platform to articulate their views. I will also be participating in trade fairs and exhibitions from time to time.

I have learnt a lot from the above product audience match. First, there are always new prospective markets to exploit; secondly a trader can only satisfy most of the consumer needs but not all. Thirdly, the needs and wants of consumers always come first. Lastly, I need to continually improve my character and perspective of life in order to continually satisfy my target audience.
