The Non-Consistent Theory of Ethics

The non-consistent theory of ethics is the moral theory that claims that the correctness of a set of rules or behavior depends more on something than the goodness of its implications. The result of a trip or search, from a consequentialist point of view, helps to judge whether something is good or bad. But many other factours, or the goodness of a mechanism, may lead to failure or success. The normative non-consequential theories have played a major role in the ethical structure and moral peace of society. There are many reasons why non-consequentialism leads to stable societies. Non-consequentialism is liberal. It does not espouse any conventional ways to successful processes or quests. Instead, it encourages every individual to develop an independent mind regarding various situations, and to rely less on conventional ways that may or may not have worked for other people in similar situations (Burgh 24). This perspective encourages the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation as it criticizes the method which may have failed, rather than putting a blanket judgment as a result of an unsuccessful outcome.

Encouraging Optimism

Non-consequentialism encourages optimism in a society. This quality is important as it has the ability to take people through a rough situation, such as a scenario where a home has been wrecked by a hurricane and people have nowhere to go (Greenawalt 14). In this case, people living in such societies will always rebuild their homes even if it means after every season, with the hope that the latest model weathers the storm.

Promoting Good Behavior and Consideration

It also encourages good behaviour, courteousness, and generosity despite the individual gains of their opposites. Selfishness offers instant gratification; corruption, theft, and other vices give a person those things that they cannot get with ease. However, non-consequentialism teaches that true happiness does not rely solely on having all the material needs. It encourages consideration for others in the society as a way of achieving true happiness.

Moderating Non-Consequentialism

However, non-consequentialism may cause a situation where many people make the same mistake without reference to lessons learnt by others. It encourages experimentation, which may lead to wasted time, and sometimes, wasted lives. Therefore, it must be handled with moderation in order to avoid anarchy of actions and directionless lives.

Promoting Stability and Harmony

Non-consequentialism is a general norm that is related to how people behave in the societies. It leads to stability and harmony within the society as it encourages trueness of heart, goodness, and a liberal mind, among other virtues that promote coexistence.
