Throughout this semester I have learned broad skills that I believe will be beneficial to me in the next semester. I have developed skills to help me cope with stress, impending datelines, and hectic schedules through the involvement of critical thinking and SMART goals. I have made productive, achievable, rewarding, and realistic academic goals that will help me succeed next semester. With this goal in mind, I will remain focused and manage my time effectively to complete tasks on time.
During my previous semester, I encountered personal problems, low motivation, anxiety, procrastination, and depression which negatively affected my academic progress. Therefore, this coming semester I plan to overcome most if not all of these challenges by prioritizing tasks and setting an achievable timeframe. I will work on my discipline and ensure I do the right thing at the right time to avoid wastage of time. To save on time, I will not let social relationships to take much of my time by choosing good friends. I strongly believe if I adhere to these I will be confident to achieve my goals and enhance continuous success throughout the semester.
I will ensure all my goals adhere to Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Result-oriented, or relevant and Time-bound (SMART) goals. I will be specific on the goal I need to accomplish which is the attainment of good grades in all courses. I will measure my success through the weekly assignments and quizzes to know whether I am close to attaining or not. I will make sure to have 4 hours daily for my studies and at least 25 hours a week.
Critical thinking is very important in academic studies. I will work on improving my critical thinking skills. The main factors involved in critical thinking include the ability to analyze, make decisions, solve problems, evaluate, and reason effectively. To perfect my learning ability, I will consider the five factors. This skills will enhance my judgment, problem-solving, and evaluation abilities and eventual improve my academic performance. Besides, I will be thinking independently and logically to avoid peer pressure and succeed academically. I will master critical thinking skills to improve my problem-solving ability in class work and real-world situations.
