My Motivation to Pursue an MBA at IESE Business School

My interest in pursuing Masters of Business Administration emanate from self-acquired competencies and the quest for evidence-based skills and expertise in business administration. I graduated with a degree in Philosophy from Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona some years back and ever since have been into the business field. Despite my young age, I have demonstrated an immense dedication to the business world for the few years that I have been in practice. For instance, not only have I been part of the family business where I have dealt with varying responsibilities under human resource management at the CODIMA S.A. but also co-founded Cryptocurrency Mining Company where I hold maximum shares since its establishment two years ago and still operational to date. Such level of commitment besides rendering me the opportunity to interact and engage with several business professionals has equipped me with tools that are vital to being part of a business structure. Albeit the achievements, the world’s business platform is constantly changing and I need to be up to the task for the emerging changes. In so doing, enrolling for a full-time Masters of Business Administration program in a reputable institution like IESE Business School would enhance my abilities in all the aspects that I desire.

IESE Business School has an outstanding reputation worldwide as a Management School. I am attracted to the school taking into consideration its shared values. I mostly admire and get inspired to choose the school for its recognized ability to produce an immense number of successful businessmen with human values, regards to business ethics and high level of productivity over the past fifty years. The ability to deliver businessmen of such caliber proves that the school is committed to offering quality education, essential business skills, and knowledge that are imperative for the dynamics of businesses in different industries. As such, it is the ideal institution that would structure, conform, and install in me the abilities which I believe would orientate me towards acquiring the adequate formation as a businessman and assist me in the future management of different business operations.

In regards to the source of my motivation for attending IESE Business School, I find four main things to be influential. For instance, first, there are the institutional values such as family, cooperation between others, honesty, and introspective growth, which I believe are adequate values and significant for developing one’s personal characters in order to make an impact on society. Secondly, the institution has an integral connection with its alumni. The school’s level of engagement with international business ambit would offer me the opportunity to be surrounded by a vast variety of people with different backgrounds and cultures, enabling me to expand my mind range and interact with current and constantly changing business platforms. Thirdly, IESE offers quality business knowledge with a focus on daily management topics based on “case studies,” thereby, allowing students to share a great amount of knowledge through fostering discussions upon which the students share thoughts as well as informed opinions. Fourth, the fact that the institution enjoys a worldwide prestige conferred to not only the university but also to the program itself optimizes my aspiration of being part of such an outstanding institution.

I wholeheartedly believe that transformation offered during the nineteen months proposed full-time MBA program would result in the desired outcomes and prove to beneficial for personal management and management of the external business environment. Moreover, I have always considered that knowledge without the adequate communication skills is practically useless. Taking such a concern into account, I dedicated great part of my time studying languages comprising Spanish, Catalan, and English as majors and basic knowledge of French and Deutsch, as well as literature, people’s culture and their social background for the award of my philosophy degree. Thus, my current formation as a philosopher has granted me the capacity to critically analyze and reason deductively to become successful in the business environment.

I am optimistic that being the responsible, trustworthy and a well versed team player that I am with a never ending thirst and quest for knowledge, I believe that granting me an opportunity for an MBA program would enable me grow and accomplish the desired outcomes including ability to develop an efficient and constant work habit, maximize the knowledge intake and objective accomplishment during the MBA, understand how a business school such as IESE is structured and how it manages its functions to acquire such reputation, be a businessman with business ethics, and seize the opportunity to surround myself with a wide range of peers with different interests but a goal of making the business world more humane. Finally, I look forward to becoming part of the IESE experience and be one of the beneficiaries of the instructors and professors’ teaching effort that enhances individual’s moral values, guards the integrity of human, and commands and preserve respect to be passed to the next generations.
