Music and Its Influence on our souls

With exceptional moral commitment and rigorous techniques of investigation, many institutions, including prisons, have put in place mechanisms to ensure that justice is given to all. In the current generation, music has been widely employed to communicate diverse information to different target groups. Since different parties tend to abuse their power for diverse personal goals, this has been an issue faced by most institutions over the previous 10 years. Taking these things into account, this essay analyses the situation of prisoners using data acquired from songs by various artists. The writer tends to explain the issue of injustice that is experienced in the courts’ system as he asks the judge what his fine was but the judge answers him to pick a shovel instead. The above instance proves there is some level of injustice that is being practiced as cowboy acting as an inmate has the right to know what his fine is. In the song, the writer also explains how one lives with fear at any given time an inmate might face his or her death sentence. This is the form of injustice the inmates receive since they have no one at their disposal to fight for their rights. They are discriminated against as they cannot afford or they do not have lawyers to represent them.

Ninety-nine years of blue b Julius Daniels, (2015)

The righters review in his song is that when you are convicted because of a particular crime, criminals face a lot that does not even form part of what should be done in order to rehabilitate them since the main purpose of the prison systems should be ensuring that they produce a better and different person from the person they received.

Styles and Akon, locked up (2009),

In their song locked up, they portray crime as a form of revenge done by persons or individuals who have power over them. The writers explain about a situation where one is locked up for something he or she did not do. This, in turn, shows that less investigation is done with regards to ensuring that the victim is the person who did the crime he has been alleged off. From the song, the writer talks about how freedom is not getting any closer, how he is locked up, and they would not let him out.

They are hanging me tonight by Marty Robbins, (2017)

In his song review criminals are viewed differently immediately after their conviction, their family no longer visits, commissary getting empty and how the fellow inmates act like they do not care by even getting food without his presence showing that the system is corrupt and biased. The writer in the song tries to capture the whole situation of how hard life is when you are in those cells. This should not be the case as according to the prison systems the punishments invoked should not be actions that risk the criminals’ life as everyone has the right to life.

Ride the lighting by Metallica, (1984)

The writer explains the above situation as he shows how inmates end up doing something they do not want or something that is against their wish with the thought that at the end of it death will come to them. The system is rotten as it is led by greedy officials who do not even care about the life of the inmates, this is explained by the many crimes that happen inside those prisons, but justice is never served to ensure that there is equality among all its members. The prison system does not function to support the inmates, actually, in most cases, the inmates end up having bad behaviors acquired from some of the inmates they found there.

Prison bound by John Lee Hooker, (2012)

The systems are corrupt and no longer serve the purpose they should which is making the best of the person they received. Prison systems are also controlled by groups of criminals in most cases those who have a life sentence, and they end up making life worse for new inmates who provide an awkward position for the new inmates. These results to situations where the new inmates are treated as servants or slaves by their inmates they found and in situations where the new inmates’ rebel to the instructions given, they are given a hard life or even get killed.

54-46 was my number by Toots and Maytals, (1968)

The writer talks about the different situations where inmates do an action that is against the rules stipulated by the system but no action will be taken against the individuals involved, he talks of how different inmates are abused and treated violently by their fellow inmates and they can do nothing to help themselves. The inmates that abuse other inmates in most cases they have a good relationship with the administration therefore no action is taken against them. From the above instance, it is seen how hard it is for one to express and do things in a way he thinks is right rather you do what other inmates want you to do emphatically.

In my own opinion, the word justice is just seen and revealed on paper, but it is never achieved in as much as there are rigid rules stipulated to ensure justice is pursued. This is driven by parties at the top of the hierarchy, individuals that put their self-interests above those of the organizations or institutions they serve and thus the practice of injustice, being biased and corruption finds its way through the entire situation making it hard for a fair judgment to be made. Prison system should be reviewed with the motive to ensure that as much as one is punished for his actions, the person should also be rehabilitated to make sure that he gets out a better person and also find a way to ensure that equality is served among all the in mates in a particular cell.
