Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, “Manifesto of the Communist Party”

The article is captivating and intuitive based on its ability to divert your attention to the underlying factors in the discussion on communism. Ideally, I find the article focusing on moolah, folks, which leads me to one of the main themes or aspects that Marx and Engels widely view. Reading through the article especially through the first part of the Bourgeois and Proletarians, one can vividly identify the struggle that exists in the world according to “The Communist Manifesto” is one that involves economic classes. The paper will address this theme in detail to clearly understand how the aspect is incorporated into the article.

One of the parts that caught my attention is the discussion regarding the Bourgeois and Proletarians. First, we can identify the separation in economic class between the bourgeois, who are considered “the proprietors of the means of social production and control the employment of wage labor” (Marx and Engels 75). On the other hand, we can see the proletariat who do not possess any means of production and can be described as the “class of modern wage laborers”(Marx and Engels 77) who sell their labor power to receive rewards to enable them to live.

According to the reasoning offered by Marx in “The Communist Manifesto,” he was for the idea for the proletariat, who are the labour workforce in society, to revolt against the bourgeois, the influential who control the means of production, no matter the means, even with force if necessary. Here, we can establish a trend in clashes between the economic classes, which, in this case, is between the labor force and the rich, who control the means of production(Marx and Engels 78). The aim of this revolt, based on the understanding provided by Marx, is to establish a temporary government, which Marx identified as “the vanguard state,” that would be substantial in transitioning the society by eliminating the class by establishing communism.

“The Communist Manifesto” dwells on the understanding of a distinct difference that exists between the economic classes and this is evident in the argument presented by Karl Marx regarding the role of struggle in class in the society. In his argument, Marx is the assumption that the struggle between economic classes is the basic factor that best offers an understanding of our lives and a brief thought on the history of society. Marx highlights that “Not only are they slaves of the bourgeois class, and of the bourgeois State” (Marx and Engels 81)offering a clear distinction that exists between the classes.
