IT organization

Taking into account staffing needs, job functions, skill sets, authority, roles and responsibilities, accountability, and supervision helps establish the concept of IT organization (Archibald et al., 2012). The IT process structure that the firms are a part of enables transparency, control, and the involvement of senior executives and business management. Effective administration of projects is necessary, including planning and assigning roles for the accomplishment of certain IT objectives. The job of the IT project manager entails managing initiatives to advance software development, network upgrades, hardware installs, virtualization rollouts, cloud computing, data management projects, business analytics, and IT service deployment. Project life cycles consist of five phases including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling and the last step includes closure. It outlines the crucial technical work as well as defining deliverables needed for the successful completion of the projects.

In project management, IT professional plays a significant role in the technology operations and partly the general supervision. Additionally, IT professionals participate in making relevant decision processes, focus on quality assurance, information security, segregation of duties, data and systems ownerships, and lastly risk management (Hartman and Ashrafi, 2012). The significant values to take into consideration in projects include confidentiality, effectiveness, efficiency, integrity, compliance, availability, and reliability of data and systems. Such concepts are essential in my professional discipline as they will help me to understand requirements and analysis, architecture, construction, design, integration and test, and finally implementation. Henceforth, when given the responsibility of being in charge of a project as an IT professional, it will be much easier to foster its feasibility accompanied by acquisition. Therefore, it means that readings and assignments have contributed significantly to my knowledge of IT organizations, projects, and the project life cycle.
