Islamic Culture Essay

The term ‘Islamic Culture’ is broadly used as a representation of many diverse Islamic cultural groups such as; the Middle East Muslims, the European Muslims, the African Muslims, the American, as well as Asian Muslims. Each of these Islamic group has its own variations on traditions and customs. Some tradition and customs might be motivated less by religion and more by culture. These diverse expressions of the same Islamic faith can complicate the topic of ‘protocol’. Culturally, the Islamic culture is expressed through giving charity to other people, focusing on care and love for the elderly people in the society, and maintaining a balance between man’s responsibilities and that of the creator. Unlike how some people consider the Islamic to be a strict exclusive religion due to the way it focuses balancing public life and personal life, the religion can, however, be considered to have an all-inclusive way of life.

The first lesson that one learns from Islamic culture is that worship is part of people’s daily life and it is not limited to mere rituals. There are a number of Islamic values that actually prove this. One of these value is Islamic fast of Ramadan. Every year, Muslim dedicate one month to fasting from dawn to sunset. During this month of Ramadan, Muslims focus only on prayer and devotion and practice self-control. Another example of Islamic value that shows worshipping is part of people’s daily life is The Hajj. Every Muslim in every part of the world strives to make a one in a lifetime visit to the sacred site in Mecca. The Hajj is an intense spiritual experience with more than 2.5 million Muslims performing it annually.
