Intercultural communication techniques

The capacity to adapt communication techniques from many cultures is known as intercultural communication competency. Understanding distinct cultural interpretations and unintentional impediments to free communication requires knowledge of the various cultures (Kealey 15). Intercultural communication is crucial because people come into contact with various cultures at work, school, and other settings. There are many different ways that cultures can differ. For instance, one culture might be concerned about men and women working together, while another would be worried about long-term versus short-term business connections.

I believe that my intercultural communication skills are improving as a result of my personal development. This is a result of my desire to engage with individuals from many cultures (Martin 7). Motivation drives my desire to foster my intercultural relationship. Moreover, my healthy curiosity drives me towards intercultural encounters to learn more about self and others. My intrinsic communication makes my intercultural communication voluntary, earning process and rewarding.

Reaching a certain level of intercultural communication is important. I would love to learn to understand and speak the different languages of my friends. For instance, if I am working with people from different countries, I will know how a particular culture interacts with women, and that may help me choose the different ways of approaching them. Furthermore, it would contribute to improving my negotiating ability in the workforce by increasing my marketability. It would also improve my accomplishment more compared to the professional and academic achievements (Kealey 16). I would be able to appreciate the different views of other students by recognizing their cultural backgrounds. Moreover, I think if am more versed with more languages, I will become more marketable and appealing to potential employers.
