300 views 3 pages ~ 774 words Print

The T293HST tractor is a design by the Korean company Tongyang. The 1.3-liter motor in the S3L2 model has 29 horsepower. (Axlegeeks, n. d.). Additionally, it has 24 take-off horsepower, or 15.8% more than typical mowers. Given that it can raise 1,102 lbs. of weight, it is very effective. Its maximum speed is 11 mph, and its turning radius is 96.2 inches. (Easterlund, 2017). Any TY vendor within the organization can provide maintenance for it. This tractor’s primary function is to tow heavy loads over extensive distances and over difficult terrain. The equipment is coupled to the tractor with appropriate links to prevent damage to the undercarriage of the tractor. This manual uses the hand signs to define their meaning.

Background Information

While operating the tractor, it is important to note that changes in temperature affect how its engine functions. The engine should run idle for an average of 7 minutes before use (Axlegeeks, n.d.). This allows the engine and oil to warm up, because disuse causes a change in oil viscosity and can damage the engine if not properly warmed. While fueling the tractor, all forms of flame must be covered to prevent explosions.

The tractor must be kept clean to avoid buildup of grease on the joints and axles. It can only carry one person at a time. Having extra riders can cause the individuals to fall off the tractor. According to Axlegeeks site (n.d.), the tractor comes with a seven-year warranty that covers accidental damage. Intentional wreckage nullifies the warranty and the owner may be forced to foot the bill required for replacement of the same. The tractor is designed to be safe for the experienced user. It helps avoid accidents and unnecessary lawsuits. The operator is advised to be sober and awake to minimize the likelihood of accidents or individuals falling off the tractor seat. Fitting clothes must also be worn to prevent snagging on wheels or axles (Easterlund, 2017).

Before starting the tractor, the power lever must be in the OFF position. The operator must sit on the tractor before starting it. The safety switch provides a means of starting the tractor only when pressure has been applied to the clutch pedal. While the tractor is running, the operator must remain on the seat. When any given task is complete, the operator must shut off the engine and remove the key. Next, the parking brake is applied and the operator can disembark (Caffaro & Cavallo, 2015). All attachments to the tractor must be done on the hook attached to the back. This reduces drag and allows the front axle to function properly.

Some of the dos include keeping the air cleaner unclogged and watching the oil pressure. On the other hand, the operator must not refuel while the engine is running or start the engine while the safety lever if off. According to Caffaro, Mirisola, and Cavallo (2017), the tractor should be kept out of highways and other busy roads. Its use shall be restricted to farmlands and road works. It is important to note that the images on the manual may slightly differ from the actual machine.

Starting instructions for the T293HST:

Sit in the operator seat. Ensure that it is well adjusted and the seatbelt is applied properly. The seat can be adjusted by turning the lever in front of the seat.

Ensure that all levers are neutral. All the PTO levels and the front wheel drive levers must be neutral to prevent accidental take-off.

Push down the hydraulic lever and pull the hand throttle lever. Make sure to apply enough pressure to prevent excessive revving of the engine.

Insert the key and turn it to ‘ON’. Do not yet start the engine. Make sure that all PTO levers are off.
