It is generally acknowledged that in the twenty-first century, intelligence and human investments have become the pillars of economic affluence and communal well-being. Higher education is an important factor in the advancement of innovation and intellectual investment. Higher education further contributes to the achievement and sustainability of the country. Higher education has grown in importance in public relations and changes around the world. However, even with the benefits of higher education on the economy as well as social perspectives, colleges should take into consideration ways to improve their teaching and learning techniques, as there is still a wide range of mutations in higher educations.

Over the last 100 years, changes in the society have in some forms influenced the mode in which colleges and universities carry out higher education. Colleges, as well as universities in the 21st century, teach a larger and more assorted population of students, promote scholarship and provide chances in many formats including online. To meet individuals and societal needs of the 21st-century directors of higher education acknowledged that colleges and universities practices needed to be reinvigorated. Therefore, professors and college students can apply the use of technology as well as adapt student-centric learning to their studies to appreciate that education is an empowering process that allows leaner has to realize what they need to know rather than just having unchanging knowledge.

Under the student-centric learning, all of us are very different from each other, and each person has their different learning intelligence. Some people learn logically, some learn visual or experimentally and others learn conceptually. According to research, education systems needs to be student-centric instead of teacher-centric in other words education systems should adjust to the way a student learns rather than the way teachers teach. Together with technology, it will be easy to understand each individuals learning style. This will enable both the teacher and student to adjust the teaching to that style. It is clearer that when education styles match each learners learning method education becomes more native and inspiring.

Nowadays, the education system emphasizes on producing products that are economically viable in this are the citizens who are qualified to be employed. The attempts made ensure that the graduates are well prepared for the workforce therefore not fulfilling its role to develop their passion. According to (Greene & Lidinsky, 2015), he says that education should not only be focused on teaching techniques, training or political propaganda, it should not be a style to be imposed on every student but it should provide skills and knowledge and social associations that enhance learners to know what they are and want. This means that professors should comprehend the importance of shifting their focus of activity to the learners. Technology is enhancing multiple modes of teaching and changing curricula. Today’s technological advances combined with student-centric learning provides a generation of students with opportunities to study distance-learning courses.

Currently, technology has a role in higher education in the 21st century, which is to build up intentional learners. The set of courses must go ahead of helping learners to gain skills to help them engage in addressing the problems faced by a complex worldwide society. According to (Greene & Lidinsky, 2015), technology provides abundant paths by which students can achieve substantial education outcome alongside specialized skills of more than one disciplines. Technology can help learning institutions to adapt student-centric learning. As said earlier every person has their learning intelligence, and if the professor does not realize their skills and interests, then it will be difficult for the student to fulfill their role of self-cultivate. In the current education system, professors act as the oppressors while the students are the oppressed. Failure to have the education system adapt the way students learn that is student-centric leads to the posting method problem. However, making students not to feel oppressed can be achieved by allowing students solve problems, answer questions, discussion, and enabling them to work in teams to solve problems. By doing this they get motivated, get positive interdependence, and individual accountability is also enhanced.

Similarly, college students feel passionless and one dimensional because of the manner in which education is delivered to them by the professors. Nevertheless, with technology students can achieve their desired learning outcomes. Using computer technology is itself a skill that student can develop in their higher education in the 21st century. By using computer applications like access and excel makes operating and managing information easier. These submissions have great benefits in accounting and business administration in the 21st century. Technology plays a role in adapting centric learning as a student can succeed through artistic brainpower, visually processing science while another uses logical aptitude, language, and arts. With applications on the computer, students can choose their passion and settle for a professional that is self-cultivating. Learners can apply technology to research. Technology also contributes to students making reasoned connections among thoughtful pieces of data thus combining knowledge for deeper and higher education.

Nowadays, the only conscious level the professors allow their students to achieve in the classrooms is observation. This means that students are only required to listen to their teachers and memorize what they said. This is a distribution of information, which has denied the students an opportunity to take action by going beyond observation. According to Edmundson, he asserts that students need to be inspired to live a life beyond observing through decision-making and living an independent life. Through this and through student-centric learning which involves active learning students will realize that inspiration, failures, and improvisation are significant in their lives. Both professors and students need to appreciate that there will be creativity and innovation. Creativity to science and using innovation in arts will bring changes in the world.

In conclusion, unlike the past, future careers will need higher levels of education. Education must help individuals to discover what they are and have static knowledge. If colleges and universities find this to be a goal, they will be able to reexamine how to achieve that goal. Both student-centric learning and technology make it easy to sustain learning activities that will enhance graduates to be mentally alert. The individuals will be able to help the society and fit in the society as well because society needs college students with mental agility and adaptability.
