With the ever-increasing amount of time users spend browsing content on social media, reaching to an average of 135 minutes per day[1], using it to reach out to the targeted consumer base is the latest approach adopted by all the business houses, whether big or small, as it helps them to always be in touch with the customers and inform them regarding any changes within how the business functions with a few clicks.

Using YouTube as a tool to promote the content on social media marketing has evolved as one of most preferred methods as it allows for creation of content that has a connect with the audience and due to the use of audiovisual it has an overall more impact as compared to Twitter where the tweets get lost in a sea of content being flooded per minute.

It helps to capture the attention of the audience by being able to create viral content. This content is created keeping in mind what the viewers are looking for and unlike television where a bulk of amount from marketing budget is used to buy airtime, posting content on YouTube is free, thereby allowing the content creators to use the resources at their disposal to create extremely impactful content which connects with the heart and mind of the youth.

The comments posted on videos shared via YouTube also give a clear idea of whether the content is being liked by the audience or not. The prime example of YouTube fame is Justin Bieber who started his career by posting song covers on YouTube and is now a multimillionaire with a fan base all over the world.

Image Sharing Websites

There is a proverb “A picture is worth a thousand words”, which is the guiding principle that comes into play when we talk about using image sharing websites to post content as a part of the company’s social media marketing plan. It allows the content developers to get creative and convey emotions without using any words.

The comic strips published daily achieve to create maximum impact whilst making use of limited space and in a manner that is not offensive to the majority of the readers and they are able to reflect on the meaning the author was trying to convey.

The content has access to a larger audience and the impact is visible as people who do not have the time to go through videos will be able to understand the message the company is trying to convey through a visual.

Instagram and Imgur are leaders in this domain with a combined traffic of 190+million visitors per month. This makes the idea of sharing content using relevant hashtags to promote it, and also craft an album leading a big reveal regarding the ultimate product to satisfy the consumer wants.

Along with this, there is Pinterest as well that allows businesses to create dashboards of the products being offered by them. The images so posted can be anything be it content created by people being to do it sharing the images created by the consumers of the product. The ambiance of the coffee shop along with the pictures of drinks being served added to a hashtag created specifically for that shop will allow the interested people to search the content in an easier and friendly manner.

Images shared can impact the possible customer while allowing them to interact and view the posts created by other users, whom of all the not photographers but try to present the product in real time reference without any major editing. This is some real-time feedback which cannot be bought.
