Gender inequality and the resulting neglect of women are pervasive in both societies. Women face many problems in every cultural setting around the world. Regardless of the surrounding growth, whether in third-world or superpower nations, the problems extend to all women. These difficulties differ from one state to the next, from one agency to the next, and also from one society to the next. However, there are common obstacles that all women face. These issues include being subjected to domestic abuse, sexual discrimination, and unequal pay schemes for employed women, the deprivation of ownership of property rights, and unfair representation in the governance positions.

Statistics carried out by various organizations attest to these facts and show that they are not mere misstatements. Some teams also go a mile ahead to provide the comparisons between the fulfillment rights of women in the current years versus the previous years. Most of the similarities show results of improvement; however, the upgrades are relatively lower when compared to those of the opposite genders. Women all over the world face the challenge of domestic violence committed against them. This violence perpetrated against the women in most cases is from their husbands. They carry out their roles by their own will, sometimes to the extent of enforcing orders through violence. In some cultures, the male children have a right to initiate beating on their female siblings in the name of instilling discipline. This subjection to abuse from the tender ages causes psychological problems to the victims to extreme points resulting to the victims dreading their childhood lives (Gracia, 2014).

The Subjection of Women to Sexual Harassment

Cases of sexual harassment are at a rise in the entire world. Women, girls, and even wives are subject to sexual harassments. The sexual harassments against women are mainly rape cases. The society is hostile towards women; men mercilessly force women into sexual relations. Wives at times to are subject to sexual harassment from their husbands. In some primitive societies, girls also undergo forced incest. To make matters worse, the set laws and regulations governing the community do not adequately address the concern. Victims of sexual harassment are unable to seek justice due to the inadequacies of the rules and procedures. Perpetrators of the crime go unpunished, and this encourages them to repeat the same crimes.

Unfair Compensation Schemes for Women

Women in employment in most organizations get different compensations with men in the same ranks. The notion that men are better workers than women is highly upheld in this male chauvinistic society. This same idea finds its way on the pay slips of employees. Complaints from women in various organizations on unfavorable wages are common grievances to the employers. Several court rulings in different countries give decisions on equal pay for equal work; yet, employers pay less heed to such judgments. They continue undermining the rights of women employees. This matter needs adequate attention and intervention from organizations that engage in the fight for female employees. Women should also consider the option of joining such organizations and presenting their grievances, against their employers, to them. This would help in advocating for equal pay to all employees for same work performed.

In some societies of the world, gender separation often occurs when it comes to prioritizing some of the activities. In most companies, it was believed that women seeking jobs amidst the men were given the last option. To date, the problem still exists. Many organizations formed tend to fight for the rights of the women. Apart from job placement, women already employed face inequalities when it comes to compensation. They are poorly paid, and yet they have the same problems. The percentage of the heads of state of the world is more than 95% male implying that the chances of the women having equity are minimal

The Deprivation of the ownership Rights of Women

Since time immemorial, communities from different cultural backgrounds were against the property ownership by women. Women have no equal rights of ownership of property same as those of men. In most parts of the world, it is against the norms for women to inherit property when there are male siblings. This is a breach of the women rights and as such, a significant challenge for the women. The women end up struggling to make ends meet even when they are from well-established backgrounds. According to studies conducted by various humanitarian organizations, women are more likely to undergo poverty, unlike their counterparts who are not readily subject to poverty. Poverty is one of the most severe stress inflicting experiences that at times lead to decisions of engaging in suicidal acts. This forms one of the most significant challenges that omen go through (Kelkar, Gaikwad, and Mandal, 2015).

The Unfair Representation of Women in Government positions

Statistics carried out on government compositions all over the world show that there is an unequal representation of women. The number of elected and nominated women does not meet the stipulated threshold by the various constitutions. This deprives the women the opportunity of wedging a fight for the protection of their fellow women’s rights. As such, equality of both genders remains a dream in such countries. Women in power are few as compared to men. The numbers may be a leading factor in the social life of many women. They are not given a priority as their voice cannot be heard. It makes it difficult for them to access some of the privileges and hence affecting their social life.

Organizations that Focus on Advocacy of the Rights of Women

There are numerous organizations established all over the world with the sole purpose of protecting the rights of women. Some of the organizations are internationals while others operate within specific jurisdictions. Among the well-known organizations that focus on women, including United Nations Women established in 2010 and Women for Women Organization.

The United Nations Women

This particular organization operates in all United Nations member countries and is a constituent of the United Nations the organization’s establishment was in 2010, and its headquarters are in New York City, United States of America. This team plays some roles, which include the reduction of poverty among women, advocating for the decline in violence that women are the face as well as the decrease in the spread of HIV/AIDS among women and young girls. Also, the organization engages in the formulation of policies that help to ensure the restoration of gender equity in the member countries. The group oversees the implementation of the formulated measures in all the member countries and consequently gauges the effectiveness of the rules (Fulu, Warner, Miedema, Jewkes, Roselli, & Lang, 2013).

The Women for Women Organization

The women for women organization put together all women leaders from all over the world with the aim of accomplishing specific goals. The body holds mentorship programs for their members to equip them with life skills and help them in improving their performances in business. The organization keeps updates on all the challenges faced by women and girls all over the world and attempt to find the solutions to these problems. The agency does not attend to any specific challenges but aims at finding answers to all the challenges faced by women. The headquarters of the team have their location in Washington DC, United States. The group started in the year 1993 with Zainab Salbi as the founder, and it carries out operations since then.

Strategies

Based on the complex nature of women, some special strategies are important to outline. The developed approaches should work alongside all people without discrimination. Strategy such as ‘women and equality’ is one that displays the importance of the women in the society. Especially women among the workforce of an organization should get treated in a similar way as the male workers. The equality should be seen in position allocation and when it comes to compensation. The strategy aims at eradicating discrimination. Another strategy is encouraging women to register in groups that help to prevent gender violence. The government should advocate for gender equality and ensure proper policies are put in place and adhered to.

The various communities of the world have different perceptions towards social, economic and culture of others. Women are complicated human beings that are difficult to understand, but to an extent, they play a more significant role in the society. They face social challenges that need attention. Each woman is unique in her way, therefore, handled with a lot of caution. Domestic violence is the first in the list has led to many women walking out of their marriages. The challenges mentioned above face women from all parts of the world. Most men consider women as weak because they feel inferior. Various organizations formed to advocate for the problems facing women have performed an encouraging work. Most of them work to end gender violence which is a vital challenge facing women and girls in most families. Some of the organizations have empowered women to access quality education thereby improving their chances of proper employment and promotions. Women deserve respect as men also deserve. Therefore, they should be encouraged and supported to fulfill their needs.
