Ethical problems raised by new methods of reproduction

First, the procedures include unnatural masturbation on the man’s side.

Second, receiving sperm from a donor rather than her husband is adultery in some ways because the donor and lady are having an intercourse but are not married to each other.

Third, some people are opposed to these artificial procedures because they are incompatible with the natural process of production. Processes that lead to human development or typical natural processes should be acknowledged (Baillie, McGeehan, Garrett & Garrett, 2013). Artificial insemination (AI) and other types of assisted reproduction are unethical because they involve technological changes of the way sexual reproduction occurs.

Issues of frozen embryos, surrogate motherhood

The primary issue that arises from surrogate motherhood is that there is an uncertainty of who is responsible for the kid and whether the woman was coerced to carry the baby since she receives a certain fee. Frozen embryos can result in severe problems in case there are no legal provisions that cover issues like their rights to be born after their parents’ death or the rights of other persons to adopt the embryo. In the absence of a will, it is not clear whether after the parents die; the child should belong to the woman who donated the egg or who bought the egg (Baillie et al. 2013).

Problems of reproductive “convenience”

The major problem of reproductive convenience is whether a care provider should cooperate in assisting health parent in using the surrogate as it is socially problematic because it seems he or she is facilitating adultery (Baillie et al., 2013). The use of surrogate involves payments, and this violates the laws of adoption and slavery laws hence caregivers should be careful and have their lawyers. Hence, employing in-vitro fertilization or surrogate mother agreement should be condemned as long as both parents are healthy.
