I am somewhat persuaded by what you are saying. I cannot, however, ignore the tremendous level of radicalization among most Muslims toward hatred of Christians. For instance, Christians who are discovered in Muslim communities and do not renounce their beliefs risk being slaughtered. This makes them oppressors of others rather than just being referred to as terrorists. Everyone entering Saudi Arabia, for instance, is expected to abide by the Islamic regulations set down by the government, even though they may not be consistent with someone’s beliefs (Newton, 2017). Personally, I see this as a manifestation of oppression. Consider any other country in the world that is not dominantly Islamic, the Muslims are treated fairly and without any prejudice.
Nevertheless, I have come to observe that the Muslims are very loyal to their religion and to all those who worship with them. Their unity is one that one can admire and desire to also follow in their footstep. I believe that is what Rheam came in contact with that has made her perceive the Muslims in a positive light. The fact that they are willing to ensure they asset each other as a community is an admiration. Therefore, as much as we cannot discriminate all Muslims to be terrorists, we also must be careful not to be blinded by their generosity. In the events of an attack, their lives are spared by their terrorist’s brothers, and they do not stand in the way to stop them from killing their Christian brothers.
In conclusion, I believe caution is the best policy. We should never let ourselves to put our guard down.
