Cells are the smallest, structural, functional and biological units of all living organism. Their basic structure consists of some elements. For example, a cell contains a membrane which controls the flow of substances in and out of the cell; ribosomes are responsible for making proteins necessary for all cell functions, DNA which is the genetic instruction a cell needs to make proteins and cytoplasm known as the watery substance that contains all the cell structures.
Cellular Differentiation
The human body is made up of hundreds of cell types which they all began life from one single cell. Each cell type becomes specialized to perform a specific function in our body through the process known as cell differentiation. According to Ronald A. Laskey “adult organism is made up of some different cell types. They are arranged to form tissues where each tissue contains a particular number of cell types that are dedicated to performing a particular function” example; leukocytes {white blood cells}.
White blood cells {leukocytes}
White blood cells are responsible for defending our body against diseases and unknown substances. They are made inside bone marrow, i.e., the spongy soft tissue located inside other larger bones of our organization. Low white blood cells in our bodies is a decrease in the disease-fighting cells. This increases the chances of one being infected exponentially. Low counts of leukocytes are usually triggered by a virus-related infection that briefly interrupts the work of the bone marrow; there is the existence of specific disorder known as congenital which typically occur at birth that is involved in diminishing bone marrow functionality.
