A natural leader enjoys taking on leadership roles, makes a significant contribution to achieving the goals established, and motivates group members to participate, all of which promote collaboration (Lussier & Achua, 2015). He or she supports others, which promotes their personal growth. Since I prefer to take the lead over following and make sure that the goals are met, if not exceeded, I firmly think that I am a natural leader. Learning managerial skills will, assist me to know efficient resource allocation strategies, which is definitely not innate.

Leaders play a figurehead role when they represent the company in social and official functions (Lussier & Achua, 2015). I assumed this position by encouraging friends and family to take leadership courses in my school. This has enabled me to appreciate my school. Liaison roles involve performing intermediation activities mostly between the organization and another firm, for instance, representing the organization in trade partnership meetings. My participation in intra-school functions enabled me assume this role. It helped me become an ambassador for my school by wanting to outsmart potential competitors, hence work towards building its image. The leader role involves executing managerial functions such as hiring and dismissing employees. The school’s board of directors performs the leader role while assessing the professors’ performance. This promotes hard work.

Conclusively, leaders are not only individuals with managerial positions but also members of staff in lower positions who influence the positive outcomes in a firm. It is, therefore, important to have the basic qualities of a leader before getting leadership skills in institutions.
