Community policing promotes peaceful coexistence between the residents of a neighborhood or community, as well as between the police and the public. Additionally, it stresses proactive issue solving in a regular and organized manner. It also helps the people in the community come up with ideas that will lead to the betterment of the people in the community. They can make their own rules that suits them best, and also amend the ones that they feel are becoming a threat to them or do not benefit them. This creates a sense of togetherness among the people as they come together to discuss their issues that affect them (Schreibman, 2014). Another advantage is that community policing is a flexible activity. The activities, solutions, and strategies in the community change with time. For instance, one way of solving a problem in one community, may not work in another community. Thus there is the freedom of change of things and way of life and way of doing things as things go on advancing. The policing methods can be expanded, and the style of living of the community.
