In the educational systems of the United States, the United Kingdom, and other nations, K-12 is a program that gives students the opportunity to develop their thinking skills and arrive at self-explanatory conclusions. In grades K–12, instruction is conducted differently since teachers offer a lot of homework to foster intellectual growth in their charges. Since K–12 students receive individualized instruction from their teachers, they are better able to apply what they learn. Compared to public schools, they use more advanced information technology.
Promoting a shared set of principles and values among instructors and students in the classroom is known as classroom community. It helps students to perceive themselves to be working together with their teacher. Creating a classroom community enables teachers to manage students’ needs that they might not get at home. Teachers can get a chance to teach students on respect, responsibility and how to effectively relate to each other. The most important element of creating a classroom community is organizing for classroom meetings every day since students get a chance to not only listen, speak but also to exchange ideas and settle differences hence they learn the relevance of respect and welcoming of other people’s opinions. (Burden, 2016)
Teachers also create a classroom community by welcoming students to their classroom by sending a letter to them that would address their fears on how the schedule runs. The teacher can also organize the classroom by display the students work or help them in arranging their own class. K-12 helps in bringing up very courageous students who are self-determining able to find solutions on their own and creates a good relationship between students and their teacher.
