This memo’s objective is to formally address the rumors that the Dell Corporation may reduce its personnel as a result of weak sales and financial limitations.
The leadership team has been working diligently over the past few weeks to evaluate every aspect of our company in order to establish a clear set of priorities and a more effective organizational structure. The team has also been working nonstop to create a streamlined roadmap for the Dell Corporation’s Sales department. Therefore, the executive team has decided on how we work and what we need to do that work.
So we made a decision that the workforce would be left intact. Dell’s policy of laying off workers still applies to the current situation. Our number of corporation’s workforce remains precisely as it has always been. Most importantly, nobody will lose his or her job due to the low sale and budgetary constraints. Thus, all employees are requested to continue with their work as usual and with no fears or tension of losing their jobs at all since they are no plans of eliminating even a single employee due to Dell’s current situation. Therefore, there is no need for further speculation since any changes to be made on the corporation will be accompanied by an official announcement.
We are doing this with the utmost respect for every person. We strongly feel the Sales department will move faster without parting with any of the employees. All the employees maintaining their positions will help in increasing the corporation’s sales again. While reducing the workforce is not the only option we have, we are exploring promising ways to raise our sales and keep the number of workforce in the corporation.
I am also taking this time to appreciate the loyalty you have shown to the Dell Corporation, and we will keep you informed of further decisions. To allay all fears of layoffs, I have scheduled a meeting with Dell’s majority owner. He has agreed to answer all the questions on January 3rd in the conference room.
Thank you.
