Confession of a weakness that prevents one from achieving their goals may be the hardest task a person can overcome. However, the most important thing is to implement plans for conquering their weaknesses and giving them a chance to offer their services. For me, the hardest task in my field of study relates to the computer engineering part’s software section. Coding was, in fact, my biggest weakness. But each summer I set aside some time to watch videos and go through several tutorials in an effort to get better at that part. After completing my education, it is apparent that I surpassed the shortcomings to an extent that I have incorporated it in my curriculum vitae, now as a skill that I am good at.
Apart from the school and the main challenges, I have a challenge of the language barrier. My background constitutes well-educated individuals and my parents always have accorded me the superlative education. When I arrived in the United States, six years ago, irrespective of having a good education base, I encountered a challenge of establishing proficiency in regard to communication levels. I overcame this problem successfully following hard work and a lot of determination.
The last part that I need to work on, however, pertains to delegation skills. As a perfectionist, I am anxious at all times when it comes to accomplishing tasks on time and in the right manner. This has all along kept me in the attitude that one needs something accomplished in the right manner, and then it is imperative that they accomplish it themselves. However, this is not true always and I have found that I can delegate some tasks to others to complete. From my last summer internship involvement, I learned that teamwork is a pertinent aspect to any professional engineer.
