Classroom Assessment

Classroom assessment is a necessity for teachers in terms of needs, knowledge, and abilities that they need to gather all the information needed for students to succeed, use the assessment process to analyze the data collected, and use it to decide on the best objective to increase achievement (Tucson, 2011). The choice of the evaluation kind, a distinctive method of data interpretation, and the creation of solutions to defects are all aspects of assessment literacy.

Developing Tactics for Common Assessment

A set of tactics that are in line with the needs of the students must be developed by the instructor for a common assessment to be successful in the classroom (Tucson, 2011). These include setting objectives by the teacher for a particular course and developing a coherent set of instruction to the students. When the assessments by the students are set, they can extend the act of flexibility in the learning process and responsiveness to the course learning (Chappuis, 2015). With joint assessment, the needs of the students are determined, specific goals are developed, about the set goals and strategies, and the teacher can assess the assimilation by the students to determine whether the objective has been reached or not.

Development of Targets in Common Assessment

Development of targets in a common assessment is important whereby the students are given weekly objectives and a test at the end of the week. This allows the teacher to develop the enrich and reteach groups depending on the performance (Tucson, 2011). The assessment is necessary as it ensures that no student progresses when he/she has not understood the last week’s objective set by the teacher. With the common assessment, a teacher with more enrich students is determined as the most appropriate for the particular objectives to handle the class (Chappuis, 2015). Therefore the student’s growth is enhanced, and the professional capacity of the teacher is also boosted.
