In a nutshell, non-verbal communication is the act of generating or disseminating information without verbal communication. This is mostly accomplished through body language, which includes posture, expressions, gestures, and movements of the face. The most effective kind of communication is this.

This kind of communication is used in business for two different purposes: first, managers use it to communicate with the team they are leading to transfer information to the employees, and second, employees use it to communicate with potential customers and other rivals. There are powerful elements of this type of communications that should be considered when operating a business. They include body posture, this shows a reflection of your current mind state whether one is confident, optimistic or depressed. One should stand upright, head slightly up, eyes front and the shoulders should be straight. This good posture enables one to be confident, authoritative, relaxed and also one to breaths easily. Secondly, smiling which is a way of welcoming and letting the client feel at the right place, also a smile reflects that the person is happy and this can influence the attitude and the nature of the client. Thirdly, a warm and firm grip handshake when you meet a client is crucial and additionally if the meeting is about important points eye contact should be highly maintained.

Every business environment has its different culture, it’s therefore very important to be keen and research on different set of rules of a company before you approach them. This is of great importance for proper communication, winning potential clients and even making reasonable deals in business to learn about different cultures of the targeted country.

In order for a business to be successful, effective and efficient passing of information through verbal and non-verbal communication must be considered. Efficient non-verbal communication plays a major role since it is used in the day to day running of a business. This has its benefits, of having high chances in getting along well and interacting with clients, workmates and also business competitors. Secondly, professionalism and confidence is also important in non-verbal communication and this is conveyed through active listening, good outfit choice and also the courage to pass a message.

In business meetings, body language must be maintained right, by demonstrating professional body movements which will create a good image to the people around also this might also help in effectively succeeding in the allocated tasks. Lack of proper body language leads bad impression which might affect the business now or later. This form of communication helps in building the image of the business and if done efficiently leads growth. Beneficial practices in this form of communication can be exercised through, maintaining eye contact with different sections of the group, while addressing or presenting to a massive crowd using different stage approaches and strolling naturally on the stage.

In conclusion, most managers are keen on this form of communication than the people around him may know. A sales person can make a successful business deal or sale or even awarded a contract by simply expressing himself/herself professionally in his body language. Therefore, non-verbal communication is of great important in the day to day running of the business.
