194 views 3 pages ~ 668 words Print

The article begins with a history of feminist criticism in the study of English Literature. The main cause of this article is the dissection of the Cinderella Anne Sexton’s poetry. This article contains analysis of many Sexton’s poetry. The paper has used a small section from the Cinderella poem and analyzed it a little. The article then again does not concentrate on the Cinderella poem alone and as such, it presents incomplete or inadequate information. The article can be commended for the use of various sources to red meat up the analysis.
Gruner, Elisabeth Rose. “Saving Cinderella”: History and Story in Ashpet and Ever After.“ Children’s Literature 31.1 (2003): 142-154.

The article starts with an introduction of the story of Cinderella. This is a good introduction to the article as it highlights what the paper wants to achieve. The paper has been written from the first person’s point of view where the author analyses some literary texts. Some of the stories include Ashpet and Ever After. The article is however based on movies more than the actual Cinderella by Anne Sexton. The analysis has been conducted from the movies as well. This article therefore can be considered inappropriate for the analysis of the poem Anne Sexton. This cannot be a worthy source or be used for academic purposes.

Anne Sexton. Transformations. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2001.

The article has been designed in such a way that a page contains two sides. The first page of the article has a weird drawing. The first page also shows that Anne Sexton won the Pulitzer prize for poetry. The second page starts with a foreword by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. The author discusses the importance of poets. The article however cannot be used as a source for Cinderella. The paper has only concentrated on praising Anne Sexton. The article therefore is not appropriate as a source of information on the Poem or as an analysis paper.

Martin, Ann. ”Generational Collaborations in Emma Donoghue’s Kissing the Witch: Old Tales in New Skins.“ Children’s Literature Association Quarterly 35.1 (2010): 4-25.

This article is an analysis of the various poems. The author has started with a small section of a poem from Anne Sexton, ”Rapunzel.” The author has also used quotes from Olga Broumas and Emma Donoghue, ”The Tale of the Shoe.” The article has however concentrated much of its effort on Kissing the Witch: Old Tales in New Skins by Emma Donoghue. Cinderella poem by Anne Sexton is rarely discussed in the article. As much as the article can provide a good information about Kissing the Witch: Old Tales in New Skins, it cannot be a good source for the analysis of Anne Sexton’s poem ”Cinderella.”

Mohammed, Nadia Fayidh. “The Indecisive Feminist: Study of Anne Sexton’s Revisionist Fairy Tales.” Advances in Language and Literary Studies 6.1 (2015): 31-40.

Mohammed’s article is based on the study of Anne Sexton’s work. It gives a feminist view towards most of her work. The article starts with a small introduction that introduces some of the fairytales done by women. The author uses a small section of Cinderella in her analysis work. As such, this work cannot be used as a source of information on Cinderella. Only small information on feminist can be extracted from this paper. The article is not a good source of information of Anne Sexton Cinderella.
