The print advert of the movie Glory produced in 1989 tells the story of the 54th Regiment of Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. During the civil war, people believed that blacks could not make good soldiers. Therefore, the blacks volunteered to fight in the Infantry. As such, the print indicates that the 54th regiment was one of the bloodiest war to happen in American history. The attack on the African American soldiers was almost suicidal.  The advert portrays that the soldiers were disciplined by marching them through fire and as a result, the 54th regiment suffered a bloodbath. Nevertheless, the soldiers remained to be disciplined to the end of the war. The advert dramatizes the suffering that the soldiers went through. Many of them were killed, wounded and captured and it is pivotal in explaining the perspective of legendary engagement as well as the historical significance of the war.

The possible consequence of the message is long term, and it is meant to teach people that the American civil war formed an important part of American history. The message creates realistic expectations for the audience as it manifested how soldiers took the risk move in order to defend the nation.
