The Struggle for Equality

The significant discussions about racism and the murder of people of color that have recently dominated the airwaves and online platforms remain a low point for a nation that has a long history of advancing tolerance and equality. For example, the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile highlight the pervasive hatred and lack of equity that continue to portray Americans as unconcerned with world peace. Despite the difficulties associated with such missions, the U.S. has taken part in numerous foreign peace and equality initiatives that cannot be ignored. (Combs 37). We have to accept that we are all equal just like our ancestors fought for the equality Coleman believes that the atrocities and injustice meted on the minority should not be left unpunished (179). The struggle for equality has not been ended, and many steps have to be taken to ensure the war against inequality will be won soon. However, all is not lost, and out past as a nation committed to confronting inequality in our state and beyond our borders empower us with the moral authority to dictate the world affairs since we have showcased our commitment to the entire world in various positions.

A Nation Dedicated to Equality

As a nation, we have people who are still living in the past, and we should not be crucified for the sins of a few acting ignorantly to discredit our long fight in restoring equality (Perry and Perry 137). The war against discrimination in Latin America is just some of the incessant quests by the USA to achieve an inclusive and tolerant society (Schwarz 1; Matheus 27). President Reagan in defense of American morality mentioned that the time has come when we have to “fish out” those who still take us back in the fight for equality and inclusivity within our borders (Sutton 204). The problems of a few people should not silence the U.S. authority in dictating the world’s affairs today in promoting democracy and tolerance among the warring communities or countries as we did in the past successfully (Forman 2).
